Host terms

These are the terms for operators listing on Islora. They are a working draft, and founding operators were promised sight of the commercial terms in draft, with time to object, before anything is signed. This is that draft.

Last updated 6 September 2026

Draft for review. This document has been prepared ahead of Islora's launch and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how the site works today — sample listings, no bookings, no payments — and will be finalised before any real booking is taken. It is not legal advice.

What has not been decided

Commission, fees and payment timing are not set. There is no number in this document because putting one here would pre-empt a conversation founding operators were promised.

When those terms are proposed, they will be sent to every operator on the list, with a period to respond, before they take effect. No operator will find a new charge applied without being told first.

What you keep

  • Your rates. You set them and change them; Islora does not adjust them.
  • Your photographs and words. You license them to Islora for your listing and can withdraw them.
  • Your other channels. There is no exclusivity — keep your own page, your walk-ins, your agencies and any other platform.
  • Your guests. Islora introduces them; the relationship is yours.

What you agree to

  • That the details on your listing are accurate and current, including rates, inclusions and group limits.
  • That you hold the permits your category requires, or have told us honestly where you stand.
  • That you answer enquiries within a reasonable time — an unanswered enquiry costs the traveller and the platform.
  • That you deliver what the listing describes, or tell the guest promptly when you cannot.
  • That you operate safely and lawfully, including carrying life vests and observing Coast Guard clearance on the water.

Verification

A listing carries a verification marker only after Islora has checked the permits behind it. Until then it shows verification in progress. Islora does not mark an operator verified on the strength of their own statement, and does not display accreditations that have not been evidenced.

Reviews

Islora will publish reviews only from travellers who completed a booking through the platform. Operators cannot buy, remove or edit reviews. Until real reviews exist, listings show no rating at all rather than a placeholder score.

Cancellations by you

Weather and safety cancellations are expected and carry no penalty — a Coast Guard decision is not an operator failure. Repeated cancellations for other reasons will be discussed, because they damage the traveller's trip and the platform's credibility.

Ending the arrangement

You can remove your listing at any time, with any confirmed bookings honoured. Islora can remove a listing that is inaccurate, unsafe, or operating without required permits, and will tell you why.

Payments

Islora does not currently handle money. Guests settle with operators directly, as they do today.

When Islora does process payments, payout details will be collected once, through a verified channel, and never through a web form that saves to a browser. Payout timing will be part of the commercial terms discussed above.

Liability

The contract for an experience is between the operator and the traveller. The operator is responsible for delivering it safely and lawfully. Islora is responsible for the platform.

The full allocation of liability, and any insurance requirement, needs review by a Philippine lawyer before this document is finalised.
